The laboratory is accredited according to ISO 17025 for the following analyses:

- Total Nitrogen

- Exchangeable Magnesium

- Total Cadmium

- Available metals (Cu, Mn, Zn, Fe)

 

The laboratory is in the process of additional accreditation for soil sampling, organic matter, carbonate content, other heavy metals, following ISO methods.

LABORATORY FOR SOIL PREPARATION
The Soil Science Institute of Athens has a fully equipped laboratory for the preparation of soil samples which operates in accordance with the requirements of the standard ISO 17025.


 
LABORATORY FOR PHYSICAL AND HYDRAULIC PROPERTIES OF SOIL

The Soil Science Institute of Athens has a fully equipped laboratory to determine the parameters
- Field capacity
- Permanent wilting point
- Water saturation
- Filtration rate
- Total moisture content
- Coefficient of water permeability

 

LABORATORY FOR THIN SECTIONS
The Soil Science Institute of Athens has a laboratory equipped with the necessary infrastructure for preparing soil thin sections for the study of soil structure.
 
 
GEOGRAPHIC INFORMATION SYSTEMS (GIS)
The Soil Science Institute of Athens has a laboratory for Geographic Information Systems (GIS) equipped with software Arc GIS and Geographic Positioning Devices (GPS). There is also available a wide range of maps at different scales in both paper and digital form.
 
 
LABORATORY FOR COMPOSTING
The Soil Science Institute of Athens has a fully equipped laboratory to determine the properties of organic materials and compost. On-site composting can be made of various materials / agricultural waste both in small / pilot scale and large-scale use of cooperatives or farmers.
